a few new tricks

this past week has been full of changes for miles. I was just writing in his calendar and can't get over how much he has learned in just a few short days!

EXHIBIT A: it all started with finally mastering the art of clapping! he holds his left hand still, palm up and hits it with his right. adorable.

EXHIBIT B: those of you who know our dogs, tinker & tessie, know that tinker is NOT fond of little ones. this has caused me quite a bit of stress. I was not sure we would make it through miles' first year with both dogs. tinker took a while to warm up to him and tessie is still a little freaked. however...they have quickly learned that miles + highchair = FOOD! miles peeks over the side of his tray at the dogs, picks up a piece of food, and very carefully feeds it to the dogs. they are the best of friends now!

EXHIBIT C: after last friday's success with standing up to the couch, I knew it wouldn't be long before he was standing up to anything and everything...including in the crib. while we were in the cities visiting my brother & sister-in-law, marc & jen, miles figured out how to stand in the pack n play. there's no turning back now and his newest obsession is standing in his crib and throwing his blankie & pacifier out. thereby negating the chances of falling asleep and ensuring that mommy or daddy will come back in to give him more kisses. he's no dummy.
