hello baby

we had our big anatomy ultrasound on wednesday and got an up close and personal look at the little munchkin growing in my (big) belly. he/she was breech and had its little legs curled up underneath it. the tech said it was a good thing we didn't want to find out the gender because it may have been challenging. speaking of tech - we were "lucky" enough to get another chance to experience the "teaching" part of the mayo clinic. that's right, we had a student come in to do the ultrasound first and then the pro. meaning I had my belly examined for an HOUR! yoinks. I was a bit sore after it was all said and done. however, we did get to look at the little tyke a long time! it's crazy to see how much this little one is moving. I'm feeling some movement but it's dulled because the placenta is located in the front and acts as a pillow between baby and my belly. speaking of belly - I included the most recent belly picture to show you all how enormous I've gotten. I guess they weren't lying when they said you grow a LOT faster than the first time...yikes. in any case, baby k.2 looks great and everything was "normal" and developing perfectly. I visit the doctor next week for the official breakdown, but the techs said we have a beautiful baby...thankyouverymuch!
"hi everyone!"
the arms were covering his/her face "do you mind?"
not as much of a "button nose" as miles
"check out my leg"

big brother

we are excited to announce that miles is going to be a big brother!! you read that right. baby kroening #2 is due on january 26th, 2010. I have been feeling super nauseous and tired this summer, which has made for some less than thrilling days for miles. I feel bad that I haven't had the energy to do all of the things I had hoped to do with him during my summer off, but we are hanging in there. with the end of the first trimester in sight, I'm hopeful that relief of some sort will follow. I'm not going to count on it though, as the "morning" sickness (a.k.a. morning, noon, night sickness) lasted until about 20 weeks with miles. I've already started to show and sort of happy to announce that the maternity clothes are about to make a comeback! I must say that I am a fan of the expandable waist pants :) plus, I feel like maternity shirts at least make me look preggo and not just like I indulged in one too many mini donuts at this year's rochesterfest...because I didn't. I swear.

baby says hi...

...well sort of. we spent last night from 9-11pm in labor and delivery wondering if baby k was going to finally make his/her debut...alas...no show. so I went to my scheduled doctor appointment for the non-stress test and an ultrasound. baby looks GREAT! he/she is very comfortable and I'm still only dilated to 1 cm. looks like we'll be waiting for the induction on thursday morning to find out what this baby is. in the meantime...here are a couple of head shots of the baby. his/her first modeling gig! ha...they are both of the face - the one labeled LIPS is basically of the nose and mouth and in the one labeled FACE you can see the eyes, nose, and mouth. hope these will tide you all over until we get a real picture in a couple of days! we are VERY anxious to meet this little one.
