bring on the flip flops

for all of you non-minnesota blog readers...let me fill you in on our fantastic weather. this has been the first march EVER on record that not one single snowflake fell. now, I'm a fan of winter - the cute hats and scarves are fun and the blanket of fresh fallen snow is a sight to behold. however, I am also a true minnesotan and get an extra spring in my step when the warmer temps come around. the number of "inside days" where we were cooped up in the house have taken their toll on little miles.

(here he is after I gave him the mom look and told him to sit down. apparently I need to work on the fierceness of my "look")

the unseasonably warm temps prompted a trip to old navy for a pair (or two or three) of summer footwear for miles and myself. here he is getting a little lesson in flip flops 101 from uncle brian:

on monday, we met up with my uncle scott and his kids, nick and ellie, for a playdate at the park. my cousins, alex and olivia, as well as my grandma also came along. nick loves, loves, LOVES to skateboard and begs to go to the skate park when they come down from st. paul to visit. miles liked watching him skate, but I think he preferred his time on the more age-appropriate playground equipment.

we are taking full advantage of the warm evenings either hanging out in the back yard or strolling through the neighborhood. tinker and tessie appreciate the weather too :)
