good times

here are some miscellaneous photos from our trip. we had such a great time relaxing and hanging out. we are so lucky to be able to take a week out of every year and spend it as a family. miles had fun with all of his aunts & uncles...and of course grandma & grandpa! we are looking forward to our week next year!!

during our vacation, we took the pontoon out a few times and had a blast. the weather was absolutely picture perfect...and we took full advantage of it. I will spare you all too many post-baby body photos of me and let you take a look at the fun we had out on the water.

on vacation

since we're using our internet connection to get ourselves some updates from the outside world today, we thought we’d provide everyone else an update on our vacation.
Truthfully, there’s not really much to say. we’ve been taking advantage of the relaxing atmosphere and have enjoyed some golf, scrapbooking, campfires, pontoon rides, board games, naps, and an abundance of food. See below for visual evidence.

one month old

miles turned one month old on june 22nd! I got the idea to take monthly pictures from my friend, jayme. these were taken last week while on vacation. ENJOY!

sacked out!

well, we are about to embark on our first vacation with a baby! we are leaving saturday morning for wisconsin, we will be staying in a cabin with the becker clan - my parents, nykkole, beth & seth, and marc & jen. my mom informs me that she is packing just about everything but the kitchen sink! nykki sure requires a LOT of stuff. miles and daddy took some time out to snuggle on the couch this evening before we flew into packing mode. it's amazing how much space this tiny little baby will take up in the car...yikes! we will be without internet for a week, so we'll post some updates and photos when we return!

EDIT 6/21/2008 7:00PM: it turns out our vacation is internet-compatible so we may post a picture or two with our feet up. however, we won't be using the connection too much because, while functional, it won't be winning any awards.

chatter box

miles is really starting to talk and smile a lot. he loves to look right in your eyes and coo back and forth. he is such a happy little baby and it's so much fun to see his personality emerge. we are still in awe of him! these were taken this morning when he was still in his pjs. if you look real close, you can see his baby acne...it just showed up on monday...poor guy. it tends to get worse when he is too hot, but he seems oblivious to it!

my first baseball game

we went to the honker's game last friday night. grandpa b. rented out the box so we were able to watch in style and enjoy the yummy food from outback steakhouse. miles slept in the front pack the whole time...impressive given the noise! not to mention that he is usually awake from 7-9pm. I'm sure this was just the first of MANY ball games to come! unfortunately the honkers lost, but the weather was gorgeous. here's a little picture from the game:

father's day

my first father's day was nice and relaxing. i was able to get some things done around the house outside on saturday so i could put my feet up on sunday. after going to the honker's game on friday and having aunt beth and uncle seth over saturday night and then going to grandma and grandpa becker's today we really haven't stopped eating all weekend.
with that said, here's what everyone really comes to the site for... pictures of miles. the little guy seems to be getting bigger every time we look at him. the first two below are from the bbq we had on saturday with miles enjoying the view from uncle seth's shoulder. the last two are from father's day.

squeaky clean

miles is becoming much more alert and has started to turn his head to follow robin as she enters or leaves the room. he's also starting to noisily share with us his baby mumbles. here are some more pictures, with a couple taken right around the time of his bath yesterday.



also, below is a short video clip of miles with one of his first smiles (at least the first smile caught on film). robin saw that he was in a playful mood so she grabbed the camera and we tried to get him to ham it up a little more and he obliged.

or so it seems for little miles. i took some time during the rainy weekend to make this. with all the pictures and video we have from the past 2+ weeks it gave me an excuse to use a song from one of my favorite bands to show off my favorite little guy. i hope everyone enjoys it because i'll be trying to post more videos in the future.

two weeks old

miles is two weeks old already! he is changing daily and we are amazed at how alert he is. he is usually awake on and off from 6:30pm to 9pm. he loves to "talk" to us and is even attempting smiles. his cord fell off when he was 10 days old, so he is starting to enjoy the bath...at least while he is comfortably in the warm water. he is growing like a weed! he's managed to outgrow an outfit or two. it seems that everything is plenty big enough around, but not long enough. miles has such long arms and legs! here are some updated photos - now that I know how to access them on the laptop, I will do a better job of posting more often. I have heard from some people (auntie beth & auntie jen) that they check the site daily and are needing "more miles!" here you go...
